So last week one of my kids came home and told me that the school was going to have a possible boomerang lunch program. I admitt I had no idea what it was so I did some researching on it. When I finally figure out what it was I thought it was a horrible idea.

Here's why:

1. All garbage comes home including fruit peels which in return will make the children's lunch pails smell and grown bacteria which will cause children to get sick.

2. Household garbage will go up regardless if you recycle.

3. Unfinished liquid items will leak all over other children's lunch pails since Wexford Public has the children put their lunch pails in a big bucket outside their classrooms instead of in their back packs.

So I did some more researching on the city of Toronto garbage policy. The city of Toronto used to ship their garbage to Michigan in the US. Since 2011 they have been shipping it to Watford, ON.

The city of Toronto currently ship 910,000 tons a year. The WMCC (Waste Management Canada Cooperation) has proposed to expand the Warwick land fill’s capacity from the current 55,000 tonnes to 750,000 tonnes of waste per year for 24 years. That would add up to a total of 23 million tonnes of waste, making the War wick landfill among the largest in Canada.

I was very appalled by this. I spent some of my childhood there and I still have family living there. This little village is being over run by garbage and Wexford Public has no problem with it.

So the big picture here is that there's a boomerang affect on everyone just NOT Wexford Public
