IPods are portable media players that are able to store media files like audio files, video files and photos. Apple Inc invented its first iPod in October 2001. Earlier iPods were capable of storing 5GB of data i.e. approximately 1000 songs but, now iPods have a storage capacity of 160GB. IPods support several types of audio and video file formats. If the audio or video files are in unsupported format, then you can convert those video or audio files in supported file formats and can further use it. IPods also act as a contact and calendar database, where you can create new contacts and edit existing contacts, calendars, notes etc. In few cases, iPods works as an external hard drive, which provides you an easy and convenient way of storing the data, transferring data from one computer to other and backing up data. All models of iPods except iPod Classic make use of flash memory technology for storing data because they consume less power and are shockproof compared to hard drives. Sometimes, due to logical failures there are chances of losing iPod data. However, to recover iPod data you need to make use of appropriate third party recovery tool.

IPods supports Windows Operating system. You need to install iTunes software in Windows operating system. Sometimes, if you are using older version of Operating system that does not meet the requirements of iPods then it may result in data loss. In few cases, you might have come across errors like “An unknown error has occurred”. This error may be due to older version of operating system. Sometimes, few software’s which are previously installed may not allow you to synchronize the data using iTunes software. Therefore, before synchronizing the data you need to disable such installed softwares.

ITunes uses two different types of iTunes library files, which stores information about iTunes library. ITunes library.itl and iTunes library.xml are two types of iTunes library files. If these iTunes library files get damaged or corrupted by some harmful virus, then iTunes becomes non responsive, which may lead to data loss. Sometimes, restoring factory setting in iPods may also result in data loss. For instance, if you want to use iPod, which was formatted in Mac to Windows or vice-versa, then you have to make some modifications in factory settings. Sometimes, if your iPod get corrupted or freezes then you need to restore the factory settings to avoid these problems. While restoring factory settings, it might delete all the files that are present on iTunes, which results in data loss.

To avoid these problems, you need to synchronize the data on new version of Operating systems, which meets iPod requirements. Accidentally, if you have synchronized in older version of OS and lost the data then no need to worry. You can make use of iPod recovery software for Windows to recover lost and deleted data from iPods. But, you should not save any new data over iPod to avoid permanent data loss.

IPod Recovery software helps you to recover deleted or lost data like photos, audio files and video files from iPods. This software is capable of recovering deleted or lost RAW photo formats from your iPods and professional DSLRs. This software supports recovery of files from different models of iPods like iPod Classic Mini, iPod shuffle, iPod Nano etc. In order to recover data using this software, you need to connect your iPod as a secondary drive. You can download the free demo version of the software. This software provides preview option where you are able to see list of recovered data before restoring the data. To save the previewed result you need to buy full version of the software.
