How the Contest Works
The Science Olympiad is a great way to practice for your upcoming standardized tests – the CST, ACT, SAT and SAT Subject Tests!
1. Students who are enrolled in Earth Science, Biology, Chemistry or Physics may participate.
2. Seniors who are not currently enrolled in a science course may take one Olympiad exam in the subject of their choice.
3. The Science Olympiad has three parts. The first competition is a 40-question, multiple choice exam. This first competition is administered by the classroom teacher on Thursday, April 19, 2012.
4. Part 2: The top 10 scorers from each classroom will be invited to the Semi-Finals competition at Inglewood High School on Saturday, May 5, 2012 starting at 8:30 p.m. Semi-finalists will take a 50-question, multiple choice exam. The exam will be scored on-site and the finalists will be announced
5. Part 3: The top 10 semi-finalists will complete a one-hour lab experiment in their discipline (Earth Science, Biology, Chemistry or Physics).
