My name is Elizabeth Hampton and I’m a senior at North Georgia College & State University. I love my education classes and cannot wait to graduate in order to become a high school English Language Arts teacher. I am working as a tutor on campus at North Georgia, and I know that every student has the capabilities to succeed.

This website has strategies to help incorporate literacy in the classroom. Of course, in an English class, literacy is a given, but literacy encompasses more than reading novels and poems. For a student to be considered literate, he needs to have read a wide array of genres and types of literature including articles and magazines. Students need to love reading because through reading comes knowledge. A student will learn to love reading if he is allowed and encouraged to read things that he wants to read. Through these helpful strategies, students will see reading through new eyes and find that it is easy and fun to learn through reading.
