INTRODUCTION:
It is a newest educational program by our government here at the Philippines supported and implemented by the department of Education (Dep. Ed).
A program which have an additional 2 years of study, 1 year at elementary grade and 1 year at the secondary schools.
· The K12 program speaks for own mother tongue language.
· K12 also embedded by the UBD approach in which the learners do all the activity and their teachers are there facilitator to their work.
· K12 is a friendly type of curriculum by which the UBD approach used in implementation.
Advantage of K12 program
· Only Philippine is the country around the globe has a shortest term in educational system in which it only has 10 years, so the government implemented this program to adapt the other country system of education to be more competitive and mastered for their field of specialization.
· In implementation of this program the goal of the K12 in adding 2 years of study is to strengthen the knowledge of the learners the capability to compete and ability to adjust for more competitive situation of life.
Disadvantage of the K12 program.
· Students complain for longer term of their study.
· Additional payment for two executive years in the private schools.
· Confused for the language to be used, because of the mother tongue speaking.
Favored or Not?
· As a future teacher I’m so in favored by this program in which the learners enhance their knowledge, skills to be more productive and competitive to their works national or global, to build a better community for their future.
