Lawrence Coulson is one of the finest and successful landscape artists. He was hugely encouraged by his father Gerald Coulson in learning painting skills. After his school days Lawrence worked as a marketing manager and kept painting as a part time hobby.
Later on he left his job and started concentrating fully on paintings of different moods of atmosphere. Gradually he started to sell his paintings in clubs, restaurants and displayed in local galleries.
He is hugely influenced by local landscapes which are dominated by the huge skies and endless horizons. His paintings are drawn on dramatic sunsets amplified by the huge skies in the wetlands, doubling the effect and on heavy stormy skies become even more threatening due to their sheer size and on many more other reflections of atmosphere.
He has received the “Best selling artist” award from Fine Art Trade Guild in 2003. His original paintings are displayed in the UK galleries regularly.
