Am I too old to learn the Guitar?

No. The Guitar can be picked up at any age, a lot of retired folk looking for new hobbies pick up the guitar and learn just find. The sooner you start, the better! It's a fantastic instrument.

Why does it take forever to learn?

I'm not going to sugar coat it, learning the guitar is something that takes patience and dedication. Much like any other skill you have become at it has taken countless hours to finally reach your potential, the guitar is no different. If you look at sports you played as a kid you spelt a lot of nights, and mornings developing (you didn't realize it because it was fun)

and the guitar is no different.

How long will my fingers hurt for?

Ah, the biggest complaint we get from beginners! Your fingers hurt because they are not use to the wear and tear of constantly being rubbed on by the rough strings. This usually takes 2-3 weeks to build callouses that will make the pain subside.

How often do I need to play?

Well this is up to you, if you want to become good you should play as much as possible (providing your fingers aren't bleeding) Practice really does make perfect and if you want to become an expert you should put in the golden 10,000 hours like the rest of us did.

What order do the strings go in? I'm Confused. The order of guitar strings is important and definitely something you should spend time memorizing.
