The Solar System is a Psychedelic/Progressive rock band from Warren, MI composed of singer and guitarist Chris Oliver, bassist Brian Arvo, and drummer Daniel Vought.

Beginning as a side project with Chris Oliver in 2002 The Solar System started off as a recording effort as well as a learning tool to explore sound and various production elements.  Driven by a lifelong obsession with sound the multi-instrumentalist began experimenting with various instruments as well as production and recording methods that would create a sensory experience all its own.  Armed with a sonic mix of antiquated and cutting edge recording techniques, as well as a fearless approach, Chris would forge ahead with The Solar System releasing a staggering 20 self produced records all the while piloting his proper band “Cody Stagefright” to local stardom.  Upon the dissolution of Cody Stagefright, Chris decided it was time to bring The Solar System to the masses.  For this he recruited old friends and former band mates Brian Arvo on bass, and Daniel Vought on Drums. Accomplished musicians in their own right Brian and Dan brought their unique styles and abilities to expand on and synthesize the ever evolving sound that is The Solar System. The Three instantly turned a one man side project into a 3 piece power house with a progressive/experimental sound unheard of.  The three create a soulful psychedelic experience. Both light and dark simultaneously, with moments of funk as seen in the song “Purple Drank,” to the full on prog eargasm that is "Lost Machines." The band has a sound, spirit, and energy that, like a mighty pulsar star, radiates.  Welcome to The Solar System!
