In California I was a certified Teacher's Aide/Instructional Assistant. I have training and certification in Applied Behavioral Analysis and working with children with Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, other developmental/physical issues and challenges. I have CPR/FIRST AID training and was a lifeguard in junior high.
I have my own transportation and can transport children, however, no more than 2 at a time. I drive a truck that only has a front seat. I'm in the market for a new vehicle, but for now only have a truck. I love children and have 8 years experience sitting children ranging from 4 months to 14 years old. I can provide personal/character references if needed.
I believe in fun, constructive entertainment. I bring my own materials if needed (I call it my "Survival Kit") which contains children's movies, books, educational toys, and coloring books/crayons (if your child is of suitable age). I keep a watchful eye of all activities that can potentially cause a mess, but if you have kids that like to get dirty, I'm not afraid to play in mud and get them cleaned up afterward.

I have experience with cats, dogs, birds, rabbits, sugar gliders, ferrets, and a few other exotic pets.
I am a pet owner. We have 5 dogs at home... a black lab mix/mutt (he was a rescued stray), a chocolate lab (another rescued stray), a chow/sheltie mix (ANOTHER rescue... what can i say we have big hearts and lots of land out here). We have a golden retriever and an elderly husky who is diabetic, has an ulcerative eye condition, and is a little arthritic, but he's the sweetest one and still movin' and shakin'. We also have two female, tabby cats. I grew up having rabbits (as many as 12 at a time as my dad raised them when I was little)... but for the most part, the most we had for any extended period of time, was 3 rabbits... and we litter box trained them all. No cages were needed for our babies.
I have experience giving insulin shots and administering pills. I can bathe small, medium, or large dogs. I'm comfortable with clipping claws, playing fetch in the park, taking the dog for a jog... I love animals and believe in only the highest standards of pet care. I treat them as if they are my children.
