Location : Dubuque, IA (50021)Visa Status : US Citizen or Green Card or TN Permit and EAD.Position : Long term Contract (W2)Position Description: Technical Support Specialists responsible for providing support for problem and change tickets for storage systems support.
Primary Job Responsibilities: - Support problem and change tickets for storage systems support work involving problem determination and implementation of changes to storage devices, data backups, software, applications or network systems.
- These tasks consist of the most complex and non standard work and require independent thought and problem solving to resolve.
- Work to standardize repeatable tasks and steps across multiple accounts within a pod.
- Team members participate once or more a day in cadence discussion on team performance.
- These meetings are typically led by the pool manager or Dispatcher.
- They discuss issues or challenges, and receive trouble-shooting input /advice from other team members.
- They may also discuss team performance trends.
- Primary pool team members may also separately interact and exchange information with members of cross-pool teams.
- Act as champions of LEAN, facilitate or engage in problem solving to create a continuous improvement culture.
Required: - At least 3 years experience in Storage Management experience within any of the following storage platforms such as: Mainframe, SAN, DS*, switches, EMC, HP, NAS, plus Project Coordination
- At least 3 years experience in Backup and Restore or Storage Disk administration (mainframe or distributed)
- At least 1 year experience in installing, troubleshooting, operating, testing, planning and configuring relevant technologies
Preferred: - Associate's Degree/College Diploma in Information Technology
- At least 5 years experience in Storage Management experience within any of the following storage platforms such as: Mainframe, SAN, DS*, switches, EMC, HP, NAS, plus Project Coordination
- At least 5 years experience in Backup and Restore or Storage Disk administration (mainframe or distributed
- Basic knowledge in LEAN methodologies
- Basic knowledge in Maximo tool
- At least 3 years experience in installing, troubleshooting, operating, testing, planning and configuring relevant technologies
- Certified in Cisco, Brocade, DS8, or other storage technologies
