I wanted to be a nurse when I was a little girl. I spent my grade school and high school years preparing to be a nurse. Science fairs, candy strippers, summer programs for college prep. Nurses help others in a care-giving role. Being a nurse is rewarding and self-fulfilling with numerous RN career paths. A nurse is a valued and trusted member of the healthcare team. Registered Nurses (RNs) provide and coordinate patient care, educate patients and the public about various health conditions, and provide advice and emotional support to patients and their family members.

Registered Nurses (RNs) work in hospitals, physicians’ offices, home healthcare services and nursing care facilities. They also work in correctional facilities, schools, summer camps and with the military.

As nurses, we face tough competition before we even step foot into a nursing career. Unlike other professions, there's already fierce competition to get a seat in nursing school. These seats often require academic prowess and experience to acquire.

Job security: nurses are in great demand in a variety of settings. Nationally the average salary of an RN employed full-time is $59,730 (excluding shift and weekend differential). Nurses can have flexible hours with option for days, evening, nights and weekends only.
