Hi Everyone, my name is Flying Officer Boss Bear (Boss for short) and I am a very proud
member of the RAF. Straight away I would like to express my heart felt thanks to the great people of the RAF for allowing me to fly with them. I have enjoyed myself so much with them and they have taken such good care of me I will be very sad to retire.
I started my flying career back in 2006 at the R A F A Shoreham Air show . . I am flying to raise money for the RAF Association an organization dedicated to looking after the welfare of the RAF, offering help and advice, assistance where required.
I was initially only going to fly for one year, but I was enjoying myself so much with the RAF my owner, friend, babysitter, taxi driver, Bob Franklin kept me flying for another year. Bob made all the contact and travel arrangements for me and took me to most of the air bases in the UK. I'm secretly hoping he will forget I am supposed to be retiring this year. I still have some flying to do this year, so maybe if I don't remind him I will get one more shot at next year's air show calendar, and maybe get to do some things that have so far eluded me, paws crossed on that.
During my time with the RAF I have met many people and collected many gifts. I have my own flying log which has been signed by the crew of every flight I have been on as well as any celebrities who were around at the time but I still have some room left in it.
I am now on Facebook so come along and visit me there
It is a privilege to fly with The RAF, and I was very privileged to fly in The Vulcan at
Waddington Air Show. Lets hope they can get The Vulcan back in the sky next year, we all know they are having problems with funding at the moment.
