Hey all, thanks for visiting my exercise blog. My name is James and I have been living an unhealthy lifestyle for far too long. At the turn of the new year, I've decided to do something about it and lose some weight through building my own gym. I have already begun putting this room into place with a new treadmill, a spinning bike, and some free weights with a power cage.

This is a work in progress, but it's really starting to look like a place where I can exercise effectively in peace. However, I still need to find some suitable accessories to make it feel like a real home gym. Namely some non slipping exercise mats to prevent any of the cardio equipment slipping and scratching the floor surface and some mirrors to monitor form and posture on workout movements like squats, which is incredibly important if you want to avoid injury.

I am also trying to stop things becoming too repetitive by including an elliptical into the mix which will be handy for those days where I need a lower impact workout due to muscles aches. With any luck, most of these tasks will be finished by the end of the week and I can finally relax and concentrate on doing what matter most, which is getting in shape and living healthy.

Over the past week or so, I have also been looking into changing the treadmill I currently own with something more modern that allows more speed. I have a few things to look for when searching for new exercise equipment, not least of all, the motor performance. This is directly associated with the speed and consistency provided on the belt which is certainly high on my priority list when shopping, and should also be on yours.

I also look into the amount of exercise apps on the computer. This can make things a lot more fun and make things feel less like a task you have to complete. I always look for at least 10 of these applications.

So with those two things in mind, i'm currently looking at two different models. One is the ProForm pro 2000 and the other is the Reebok Zigtech 710. Both have qualities in their own right but I'm thinking the pro 2000 edges it, and that's what i will be going for.
