Fishing Tips

Fishing is one of my favorite sports.
I wanted to use this site to help anyone that was thinking about getting into the sport, but doesn't know exactly how to do it, become familiarized with the many types of fishing.

There are four main styles of cycling.

  1. Road Biking
  2. Mountain Biking
  3. Cyclocross
  4. Time Trialing

For this site I wanted to focus solely on road biking. One page will focus on the equipment and apparel necessary to ride comfortably and the other page will focus on some various training methods.

Please enjoy!

Road Biking

Road biking consists of riding on paved roads. Road bike racing is a complex sport, especially when you start talking about the multi-day races like the Tour de France. Many people wonder how cycling could be a team sport when there can only be one winner. Others wonder how they can calculate an overall winner of a multi-day race when the overall winner only wins maybe one race out of many during the whole race. There are individual winners everyday and at the end of the day’s race everyone is given a time. That time is added up everyday and in the end the rider with the least amount of time wins the overall race.

The reason that cycling is a team sport is because of the fact that unless the team captain has a good team he or she will never be able to win the race. There is incentive for other riders other than the team captain to race. Many races have prizes for the fastest sprinter, king of the mountain, young rider, and an overall top team. Also many times the team captain will share the winnings with his or her team. For example when Lance Armstrong won the Tour de France the third time he gave all of the prize money to his team (he gets enough money from sponsors anyway).

The most famous bike races in the world, known as the 3 Grand Tours, are:

Road biking is gaining popularity in the United States. We here in the US have our own “3 Grand Tours”:
There are many one day races in Utah. The largest race in Utah is the Tour of Utah - August. I raced in one called The Buffalo Stampede. It takes place out on Antelope Island. I came in third to last place. It was fun, but I realized that day that I’d never make it to the Tour de France. I love to ride and it was fun to race the one time, but I’m going to stick with riding by myself and imagining myself riding the Tour in my mind.
