Why Asian Cities are Great Places to use Electric Scooters?

Urbanization is the daily struggle in every part of the word. Every society is developing strategies to establish better infrastructure, better health and education facilities, and investing in manufacturing industries as primary elements of urbanization. Rural to urban migration has rapidly increased since the last decade. More people are moving o urban areas in search of employment, education, and enlightenment. People tend to believe there are more opportunities to develop individual goals and establish mansions in urban areas than in the rural. This attributes to the intrinsic characteristic of major cities, high population. Despite continuous advancement in technology, enhancement of services, major cities still face the challenge of managing population.

China is renowned for its high population across the world. The country ranks top in development with regards to infrastructure and technology; however, administration of the major cities remains a challenge. Despite their skills in engineering and technological innovation that is implemented within the country and helping other countries worldwide, decongestion of China major cities is a headache for the national government and professionals in urban planning.

One of the critical factors in urban planning is transport system. It is one of the fundamentals in urbanization; infrastructure with respect to buildings and roads mean nothing without equipment. The Gogoro has taken up this opportunity to enhance the transport system in China. Of course, China has among the best transport channels in the world; the electric trains and tunnels that make movement within and without the cities efficient and fast. The startup company is armed with at least $150 million for developing ideas towards effectiveness and efficiency of the transport system.

The electric scooter idea attributes to popularity of Gogoro. The company intends to establish ATM swapping stations at intervals across the country, especially near cities to ease transport and increase productivity. Time is a factor in any business industry thus the importance of swift movement from one point to another. The smart scooters are sleek and efficient; there is no booking. Gogoro has launched millions of these scooters in the cities that match with numbers of the Chinese; the congestion at bus stops and train stations is gradually decreasing courtesy of the startup company idea.

The structure and functioning of the escooter is easy to understand. Apart from the smart components that detect rail lines and gas stations, anyone with a background in mechanics can dismantle and combine components of the e-scooter. On the bottom of the driver’s seat are two lithium-ion batteries that can be replaced easily whenever the driver notices low power. The batteries can also be recharged on the sides as the scooter runs. The rechargeable batteries last for at least 7 hours hence easy to manage. Drivers can set specific times within their trips to change and recharge batteries to avoid surprises while on transit.

Previously, cars were a trend and every young person with a job in the city would want to own one. As the days progress, people get used to cars; today, it is no longer a hype. Driving is more of a hassle than using public transport. In China, the rate of purchasing cars has significantly decreased as compared to previous years because it is no longer convenient. Yes, cars are cheap considering China has well established manufacturing and assembly industries but the question comes with convenience. The Gogoro has capitalized on this rising need in major cities of the country by launching smart scooters; it is a large investment that guarantees huge retur considering it solves the core problem in the country. The scooters offer universal and unavoidable services.

Alternative Transportation Modes

Before the launch of e-scooters, bicycles, manual scooters, and skateboards were widely used in covering miles across cities. Bicycles were the most common modes of transport because they are relatively cheap and fast compared to the mentioned modes. Skateboards are way cheaper but involve more hassle; manual scooters might be faster than bicycles but have a high initial cost, their maintenance cost is also high. With a speed of 25km per hour, e-scooters remain the suitable solution in Asian cities.

Cost of e-scooters

In Singapore, electronic scooters range from $200 to $2000 dollars. This is much less than the cost of motorcycles in the same country. The price variation is based on size and specifications of each scooter; manufacturers also use different quality of materials that influence durability and maintenance factors.  Scooters maintenance cost is relatively low; there is no extra cost of petrol or parking fee. The low initial cost and maintenance cost explain popularity of scooters in Asian cities.

Safety

Riding a scooter is like walking along the pavement; in fact, you can choose to ride your scooter along the walkway. Just like pedestrians move against oncoming traffic for safety, scooters are also ridden against traffic. It is safer to ride it this way because you can maneuver obstacles and cars as you move. It is safer than e-bike.

Also, scooters are not as fast hence low risk of causing accidents. Riding on pavements in the neighborhood alongside pedestrians is safe.

Portability

Electronic scooters are foldable. Whenever you encounter a mechanical problem or you need to travel with it to vacation, it can easily fit in your car.You should delete all of this text and replace it with text of your own.
