History

Engulfer of Corpses first manifested as the one-man side profect of Adipocere guitarist/vocalist Justin Carolan. Feeling a growing hunger to play more a more primordial and straight forward style of death metal, rooted in his admiration for crushing music being produced by both Swedish and American bands in the late 80s and early 90s, he shifted directions and enlisted friend and former bandmate (Desolate Realm) to join him on bass guitar. To attempt any form of musical homage to the master of old using modern tools such as samplers and drum machines would be an abomination, so the search is on to assemble a complete live band to flesh out this spectral force from another time... a time when substance trumped image and trends were rightfully mocked and shunned.
