Another unique feat-ure of the Learning from Light program is that AEP, unlike other utility part-ners around the US, has been willing to help fund projects outside of its service territory and even out-side the United States.  There are Learning from Light Schools in Alameda California, Albuquerque, New Mexico, and in Por Venir, Bolivia, London, England, the Galapagos Islands, and New Guinea. 

AEP even donated solar panels and paid for a project at a YMCA Camp in New Jersey.  AEP believes in helping teachers and schools with better tools for improving math and science test scores throughout its service territory, but AEP has gone much further in helping schools that wanted to join the Learning from Light Initiative.
