Mistakes we do while working with electrical equipments

Even the most careful person makes mistakes. Hence, this is something that we often do while handling electrical equipments too. We make some very simple mistakes while working with these equipments and they become extremely critical and unmanageable! Thus, whether we contact an electrician in Cape Town or Durban, we often land ourselves in unprecedented situations much before the professional comes to rescue us! In unfortunate situations the outcome becomes so fatal at times that it threatens our lives too! Hence, let us take a quick look at the mistakes we do while working with electrical equipments.

·         We overlook water contact while working:

One serious mistake we often do while handling electrical equipments is that we forget to protect ourselves as we work! When we remain busy in working, we seldom pay attention to look whether we are standing on a wet surface or our body is in contact with something damp or not! This makes us vulnerable to electrocution. Therefore, we should always wear rubber or leather footwear and use wooden tools while working to avoid conduction of electricity.

·         We do not look upwards while working outdoors:

You might find this surprising, but it is true that we seldom look up when we work outdoors! This leads to lethal accidents especially when we need to carry long ladders and poles to a particular site. Since we never look upwards, we forget to check whether there are overhead electrical wirings and power lines or not. As a result, the ladders, polls and other tools get entangled with exposed wires and lead to serious accidents!

·         We use electrical gadgets without checking them:

Whether it is a land mower or a hair dryer, we just switch them on and start using. Majority of us rarely make it a point to check each of our electrical gadgets carefully to find if they are in proper condition before we start operating them. As a consequence, we often fall a prey to mishaps like electric shocks, short circuits, emission of fire sparks, etc. which can even cause fatal burn injury!
