Why are they so popular?
Labrador Retrievers have been one of the most popular breed of dog for over 10 years in the U.S. and the U.K. Labradors are house dogs, so if you're looking for a dog to keep in the backyard, a Labrador is not for you. Labradors thrive on human contact and have to be with you a lot. They need to be around people a lot. They become an important part of the family unit. Labradors are also easy to groom, because they have short hair that doesn't need to be brushed very often. Don't bathe them too much either, if you do, the dog will get dry skin problems. Labradors are easy to train which is why they are used as guide dogs and such. All in all, Labradors make a great family dog!
