This is the website of Dick Lumberg, award winning copywriter and former CCO of Lumberg, Abernathy & Smith. Often called the father of anthropomorphic lunchmeat, Dick was named copywriter of the year by Advertising Monthly in 1972 and 1975. He was promoted to creative director in 1976 and in the years that followed, created iconic work for such well-known brands as RC Cola ("R See How Delicious It Is!"), IBM ("Tomorrow Is Just 24 Hours Away") and Virginia Slims ("The Chick Stick").

In 1992, he co-founded LA&S. After a lengthy dispute over appropriate and inappropriate touching, Dick was unfairly pushed out of the company in 19997–something he is in no way bitter about today. Seriously, I'm over it. Since then, he's spent his time freelance copywriting, raising prized poodles with his fourth wife Margaret, sipping fine single malt vodka and playing video poker.
