Bathroom are a place which has to be functional as well as aesthetically appealing, something which modern designers are paying attention to these days. Use lighting well- If you are building a bathroom from scratch, make sure you make ample use of natural lighting. There should be windows in your bathroom to allow in ample sunlight, and the windows should be placed high enough to protect your privacy. Allowing in enough sunlight in your bathroom has plenty of benefits such as your bathroom dries out faster, you save a lot on energy and natural light is always more appealing. Along with natural light, make sure you select the position of artificial lights well too. There should be lights on top of the bathroom mirror or on either sides and the rest of the lights should be positioned so as to illuminate the maximum possible area.
Smart storage- Storage in bathroom is very important indeed. With modern bathroom suites available these days, selecting the right storage isn’t a problem. Go in for vanity units in case you have a cloakroom. For more spacious bathrooms, you can go for standalone drawers and cabinets. While selecting storage units, make sure you maximize your space. Having cabinets in the corners of your bathroom is a good idea, since corners can’t be used for any other purpose in most cases.
The right basin- Choosing bathroom basins isn’t only about the design and finish. It is also about the size and the position where the basin is to be installed. A general tip for selecting the right wash basin for your bathroom- select the position first and then the design, so that the basin does not obstruct the movement later on.
