Choosing a Wedding DJ_Questions to Ask

Here are some things to ask a DJ when asking for information -

Do you have any testimonials?

If they do, ask for them. Ask if they have any past bridal couples that wouldn't mind being contacted to speak to about their night. Even if you don't follow through, the fact that they are willing to give you someone's details that would be happy to speak to you is a good sign.

Do you work regularly at any wedding venues?

This is a big one and even better than testimonials. Why? Because testimonials can be easy to fake. If you can find out which venues they frequently work, arrange to speak to the wedding coordinator at the venue to ask them their opinion of the DJ.

Simply ask the DJ what licenses (if any) they have and furthermore ask for a copy of the license/insurance. If you hire a DJ that does not have these in requirements in order, you run the risk of hiring a DJ that is obviously not professional enough to fulfill their legal obligations and may not even be allowed to set foot in the door of your venue on the big day if they are asked to prove they have all necessary legal requirements.

Some other questions you might want to ask are -

Do you accept requests from guests?

How flexible are you in music styles?

Are you experienced in reading a crowd?

How long have you been a wedding DJ?

How many weddings have you done in the last month?

Are weddings all you do, or are you a "jack of all trades" type DJ?

How do you dress for a wedding?

What soft of equipment do you use?

           Is lighting included or extra?

Do you keep up to date with current music?

Are you able to make announcements on the mic if requested?

In the end, pricing is one of the minor things that you should be concerned about when it comes to the wedding DJ for your event.
