I saw this man yesterday and though he was the perfect addition the my Portland Life album.  He was peaceful unlike many of his fellow street dwellers.  Not sad as I have seen before but peaceful.  He was far from everything we as Americans think of as successful.  Yet in his own place and in the time as I passed by there was more to this man.  He was on the street corner as so many before but he was not begging or even asking for money.  He was not covered in a dingy blanket sleeping, he merely was.  Not avoid eye contact out of shame, not waiting for anything it seemed, he just was.  I still have much to learn about life and maybe that is one them, to just be.
