Ramona Diaz

This is the story of my life


My oldest daughter’s name is Ramona Diaz. She was born on Monday April 4, 1988 in Fallon, Nevada. This was one of the happiest days of my life! Watching her grow up into the beautiful young lady she is now, my fondest memory of her was teaching her how to ride a bicycle without training wheels. Those were the days. Her mother and I were both in the military so we moved around fairly often. Ramona first attended school in California. Next we moved to Virginia where Ramona attended the 3rd grade at Linkhorn Elementary School. This is where she first started to play soccer. Her mother and I divorced and Ramona and her sister moved in with their mother. She had to change schools once more. She finished the 3rd grade at Pembroke Elementary in Virginia Beach as well as the 4th and 5th grades. She was happy as long as she could play soccer. I was living in Chesapeake, Virginia while Ramona and her sister lived in Virginia Beach, yet on the first day of middle school, I was there to take her. She attended Bayside Middle School for the 6th and 7th grades, but when the city rezoned the school district, Ramona had to go to Independence Middle School for the 8th grade. At both schools, she played soccer and field hockey, so she had no trouble with making new friends. During her 8th grade year, her school field hockey team won its highest honor: City Championship.
