CorpsFusion is an interactive body of professionals that discuss current ideas and technologies and progress toward identifiable goals. The motto: "1+1 equals infinity" refers to the infinite potential of teams to accomplish more than any single individual. Ideally, the sum is both greater and different than the parts.
Ultimately, this project exists to develop better students by developing better teachers. CorpsFusion supports this vision two ways:
1. providing a platform for educators to better themselves while away from the classroom
2. providing a resource to become familiar with educational technology
A "Quarter Hour of Power" 30 Day Challenge
Ever try to lose 15 pounds or just exercise consistently? Staying actively committed to goals challenges everyone. Particularly for the educator away from the classroom, staying focused on professional development is difficult. For the next 30 days, we challenge you to find a peer, share one professional goal, and share your progress. To stay accountable, each person should schedule a 15 min. check-in at least twice a week. For example, in 30 days I will be taking a state certification exam. My partner wants to learn how to use Prezi more effectively. First, we tentatively schedule our first four call-in times. Next, we share our goals and rough roadmaps for achieving them. Like any workout partner, the goal should be to support each other during your shared session. For example, during our first call, I might recap some of the content material I've mastered and am struggling with. My partner might give me access to a first draft of a Prezi to review. For the second call, I might ask for suggestions on additional test prep resources. My partner might demonstrate a second draft. At the end of the 30 days both of us can either establish another 30 day challenge or disband and find another partner.
This initial space serves as a main repository for web-based educational best practices.
