Ancient Egypt Web Quest

Do you have what it takes to be an Egyptologist? The culture of Ancient Egypt is fascinating and many of its aspects can be seen in modern culture—if you know what to look for! Your task will be to investigate different parts of the Ancient Egyptian culture, report on specific details and make connections between the Ancient Egyptians and modern civilization.

The Ancient Egyptians occupied the Nile River Valley in northern Africa from circa 3150 BCE to 31 BCE when it fell to the Roman Empire. During that time of over 3000 years the Ancient Egyptians created a culture that was far ahead of others during that time. Besides the famous pyramids, sphinx and mummies, Egypt is known for its fertile delta, limestone and farming among other things you will discover.

There are 6 key characteristics to every culture and these will guide you through your Web Quest. They are:

  • Beliefs (religion)
  • Geography
  • Arts & Science
  • Food
  • Labor
