Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification for auditors
is supported by the Association ISACA (Information Systems Audit and
Control Association). Candidates must meet the requirements set by
ISACA.

The CISA certification candidates must pass an examination in accordance
with the Code of Professional Ethics ISACA, and to probe 5 years of
experience in systems audit, internal control and information security
and have a continuing education program.
Failure to meet these requirements there are some equivalences defined on page ISACA, which are the following: 2
- A minimum of one year of experience in information systems or a year
of operational auditing experience can be substituted for one year of
experience systems audit, internal control and security.
- 60 to 120 hours of professional education may be substituted by one or
two years of experience, respectively, systems audit, internal control
and security.
- 2 years full-time instructor at the University in related fields (eg
computer science, accounting, auditing, information systems, can be
substituted for one year of experience in information systems audit,
internal control and computer security.
