CETA: COMBATIVES FOR EFFECTIVE TERMINATION OF ATTACK(ER)

THE CETA CLOSE QUARTER COMBAT SYSTEM OF SELF DEFENSE CETA stands for Combatives for Effective Termination of Attack (or Attackers) and is the result of over 50 years of study in  the worlds most dangerous and lethal fighting systems. The most effective techniques and tactics were taken not just

from eastern fighting systems but western ones as well. Although it is an excellent form of exercise, CETA has no sporting application. It also is not a means to spiritual enlightenment, a philosophy or an art form. It is a close quarter combat system, which has its primary goal self- protection. The techniques and tactics of CETA are designed to instantly stop and seriously injure or destroy a large dangerous attacker. Because of the technique selection, and the proper use of combat tactics, CETA is one of the most effective methods of self-protection ever devised. Tactics are the way techniques are used and are just as important as and sometimes even more important than techniques in real self-defense emergencies. This is where the traditional martial arts fall seriously short, that is their non-emphasis on tactics.  A CETA practitioner makes these tactics second nature . See Info Article 4.

CETA places low importance on awards and belts. There is a certificate - rank system based on the traditional Japanese martial arts belt ranking system. Students may however, at their discretion, elect to forgo the belt ranking system and instead receive  "Skilled Practitioner" or "Expert Level" certification. CETA practitioner does not wear karate uniforms or other  oriental garb, bow or engage in oriental ceremonies found in the traditional martial arts. Like a few other contemporary systems, CETA uses 21st century workout technologies to take our martial skills to the highest level.

The founder of CETA is Brooks Marlowe, 8th Degree Black Belt with 50 plus years experience in the martial and combat arts.Classes are $10 per class ( private or group) and are held at Brook's home gym.
