Technology flourishing from cd duplication to dvd replication

With the advancement of technology it is needless to mention that now one can make their music with CD or dvd duplication or replication. Many agencies are available in the markets today that are willing to duplicate or replicate a CD or a DVD. The choice is personal and according to the customer need as to what method should be followed. Both the duplication and replication process might give a similar result but are completely two different process and though it might look apparently same there lies a vast difference underneath which is only seen or understood by an experienced person.

Difference between duplication and replication

Both the duplication and replication processes are poles apart when it comes to their function. Replication is a professional method of copying the exact details of a CD or DVD into another whereas duplication is a method of copying the data to another but not in an exact manner. The replication process needs an expertise set up but duplication is much more convenient and can be done from home.

Advantages and disadvantages

Duplication and replication both possess certain advantages and disadvantages. The biggest advantage of duplication is it is user friendly whereas replication is not so user friendly process. On the other hand replication gives the exact clone of a CD or DVD which is difficult in the process of duplication as it might give similar data but not the exact copy. Furthermost the replication process is much more accepting and durable process which is mostly followed in the media industry. The per unit price of duplication is much more compared to replication and for the need of a large number of product replication is the perfect process to bank on. In case of time, duplication needs 2-3 business days whereas replication might take 7-10 days.

Types of data copying method in CD’s and DVD’s

There are four common operations normally performed in a CD or DVD. They are: duplication of CD, replication of CD, duplication of DVD, replication of DVD. Both the CD and DVD can be subjected to either of the methods relative to the need. As mentioned earlier about the duplication and replication processes, duplication when done from a CD to another CD it is cd duplication and from a DVD to another DVD it is dvd duplication. On the other hand replication when done from a CD to CD it is cd replication and from DVD to another DVD it is dvd replication.
