It is the deep past of Ireland; a world of magic and intrigue, of myth and of legend. It is the time of the court of Tara, an enchanting world of politics and sorcery. Centuries ago, a curse was lain on the High Queen of Tara, Dierdriu, by the dread sorceress Morrigan. The curse was such that no human descendent of the great queen could ever occupy the throne of Tara, or all of Tara would fall into the clutches of Morrigan's Master, the Erl-King. So was the enchantment of the Bloodline woven, enabling the princess and princesses of Tara to lie with the beasts, ensuring that Tara would never fall into evil and darkness. Dierdriu herself lay with the wolves, creating the Royal Wolfline.
Now, Tara is in jeopardy. The throne has been usurped by Mab of the Lionline, and Bricriu the Fox. Mab's son, Eochaid Bres, sits as the figureheaded puppet king. Cormac mac Airt, the Wolf King, has been in exile at Scathach, Castle of Shadows. Recently freed, Cormac now mounts an army, an army to take Tara back from the usurpers, and to rid Tara of the ancient evil once and for all...

The Erl-King : Quite simply, the most terrifying figure in history. He eats the children. Possesses the Stroicim Inchinn.
Joanna : Cruithin woman, human, Cormac's companion. She saved him from his exile.

The Miller - a giant man who prepares the Erl-Kings ... cuisine
There are seven Royal Bloodlines. All others are lesser bloodlines, as the enchantment is occasionally bestowed upon a house for service to the High Kings. Also, the opposite side of the enchantment houses the curse, often a punishment for the fiercest betrayers. These are the Dark Bloodlines.
The seven Royal Bloodlines are the Wolves, the Panthers, the Lions, the Eagles, the Deer, the Swans, and the Chariot Horses.
The most well known lesser bloodlines are the Foxes, the Jaguars, the Owls, the Ravens, and the Tigers.
The only desendents of the Dark Bloodline still living in Tara are the Rats, the Snakes, and the Spiders.
Places of Note :
The Sunchamber - The Hall of Tara. It is said that the Sunchamber catches the first ray of Dawn's Sun, and the last glimmer of Twilight's Star. Whatever the case, it is constantly, dazzlingly bright.
Scathach - Fortress of Shadow, Cormac's home while exiled
Muileann - Home of the Miller, the Erl-King's servant
Gallan - Home to Cait Fain and Gallan Palace
Plain of the Fal - A small clearing where the the Fal, a phallically shaped stone, rests. Legend says that the Fal will sing for twenty days and twenty nights when touched by the hands of the true High King.
Chambers of Sorcery - the deep caverns beneath the Palace of Tara, where the sorcerers reside and create their enchantments.
