BUTCHER'S ART

This site was set up after the death of Michael Butcher in order to make his art available to his friends and family, as well as to the general public. All proceeds from the sale of Michael Butcher's art go towards supporting his surviving family, his wife and son.

BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Michael Butcher(12/04/1979- 11/03/2009) was killed in an automobile accident, when somebody made, if not an illegal U-turn (because there is no sign specifically forbidding u-turns on that road), then a foolish u-turn cutting across three lanes of traffic to eventually hit him while he was riding his motorcycle to work. While this is the most tragic point in his life, it is not the most important.

Michael, sometimes better known as Butch, was a wonderful husband and brother. He was entirely devoted to his unborn son, though he was killed before he was able to find out it was a boy. Such devotion included 3am runs to the store for medicine when his wife couldn't stop vomiting, as well as dealing with the constant demands of a not so stoic(I.E. Whiney) pregnant woman. His days were consumed by reading, music, and art. Butch was a tatoo artist by trade, and painted often in his free time. If he wasn't working or painting then he was playing his drums which took up most of his living room, along side his two guitars and bass guitars. When he needed some quiet he would sit and read, between his wife and him it seems like a Barnes and Noble had moved into their home.

On top of all of this, he found time to spend with his wife, his family, and his friends. Butch was the person to go to if you needed help. He was big and scary to those who didn't know him, but to those who were his friends, there was nothing he wouldn't do for them. From loaning them money to cover rent so they wouldn't be evicted, to helping them move out of a home with an abusive/explosive ex. He was there at 2am if you were afraid that somebody had broken into your house when you were home alone, and he would fix the wrongs made by others so nobody would go without the things they needed or even just wanted.
