There is no secret that it's essential for children to obtain lots of exercise every single day. Some experts say that children ought to be finding a the least at least One hour of vigorous play per day. I would agree that needs to be the very least number. I can remember the days once i would head outdoors and play all day- (8 hours or more.) Today is different though and it is increasingly nearly impossible to find our kids off the couch and off of the game titles and get them outside. This is one of the members for that dramatic rise in weight problems in children.

So what is the answer? Do we kick them away from home and let them know to not return till dinner? Probably much less I understand I wouldn't do this to my 6 and seven yr old daughters in line with the potential questions of safety. Get them involved in an organized sport perhaps? Sure that is a good idea, however there is the argument which our kids today are heavily scheduled in organized activities which both are not free and involves me carting them around everywhere. I do believe that organized activities are ideal for kids, but have children forgotten how to leave the house and play? Video games and Cable TV make it too possible for kids to just sit there and do nothing at all.

Here are some ideas that may help. Here are a few active games your kids can begin to play. They are enjoyable, they can do them both at home and they will get some good well need exercise along the way.

Game #1 Fitness Bingo This game is played the same as regular Bingo but workouts are added. First you need to designate each letter inside the word B.I.N.G.O. For example the letter "B" will =10 Lunges, "I" will=5 Push-ups and "N" will= a 20sec hamstring stretch. You get the idea. What happens is when when a BINGO number is named out and also the player does NOT have the time to the board then they want to do that designated exercise.

Game #2 Obstacle Course- This is one thing that will be easily done outside, inside or both. Simply set up a challenging course and explain to you it. It is going to be far better to time this course to see if they could improve with each and every attempt.

Game #3 Bowling Pin Relay- This is really a game that requires a lot of running and some throwing skill also. Take some of those plastic toy bowling pins or some plastic cups can do the trick. Place 5 or so back to back spread apart by about 3 feet. Next take a football or some other ball and run up to some designated spot about 15 feet from your row of pins and try and knock one resolve at a time. After each throw attempt the thrower must gather up ball and run it all just how back to a starting line some 25-35 feet behind the throw line. This is a good game for a larger group but could work with even just one player against the clock. - Dora
