Hello! Welcome to the Bon-Ton Borzoi WebPages! Bon-Ton Borzoi started back in 1969, when our first Borzoi purchased came from the Del-Jer Kennels, which was located in Burlington, Wisconsin. Del-Jer was purchasing stock from James Barr, at the Sunbarr Ranch, while Mr. Barr had decided to retire from breeding.

Although not considered a breeder by any stretch of the imagination, we did have several litters over the years.
Currently, we have 7 Borzoi. Our oldest, AKC CH, UKC CH Edenrock Calaron Zenda Bon-Ton; AKC GCHG, UKC CH, Int'l CH Lagniappe Cajun Zydeco Bon-Ton BCAT; Justart Majenkir Zabigail at Bon-Ton; AKC GCHB, UKC CH, Int'l CH Bon-Ton's Lagniappe Zaktarulon BCAT; our little speed demon AKC GCH SVershin's Zsa Zsa Galore Bon-Ton BCAT; our little stinker AKC CH Novgorod High Noon Ronan Zorticus (Zorro) Bon-Ton; and last but not least is our delightful and very sweet Bon-Ton's Zirconium Sheer Brilliance.
Zircon is a puppy back from a breeding with lovely Ivanhoe's When I Fall in Love to our very own singleton Zaktarulon. When you describe a dog that is sweet, Zircon can melt the butter in a pot with only a glance. We hope to get him out in the ring to acquire his champion title; however, he's just as happy playing with Zorro in our 5 acre yard. Zorro is very close to finishing his Grand Champion title having all 3 majors and champion defeats needing just a few more points. We are slowing down on showing as it has become more difficult to get the urge to drive 3-4 hours to get to shows and then spend several nights away from home.
We had 4 great consecutive years of Zydeco being in the Top 5 Owner Handled Borzoi. Zydeco is the first Borzoi in history to achieve a "double gold" status, meaning he is a Gold Grand Champion and also a Gold level Owner Handled Borzoi, which was recently added by AKC. Zydeco was retired early on his 6th birthday because I could tell he was getting bored with it.
Both Zydeco and his son Zaktarulon are available at stud to approved bitches. Zydeco has had his heart and eyes certified with OFA and is DM clear by parentage. Zaktarulon had his eyes certified good with OFA and was tested for DM showing N/N clear.
Mike and I grew up and lived in the Midwest area most of our lives and then moved to the lovely state of Tennessee in 2009.
I have been collecting Borzoi artifacts since the early 1970's and have written about these antiques for several magazines over the years. Recently I have decided to give up and sell most of my collection. I'm still having a hard time letting go, but have sold some great items.
