Girl Scouts is open to all girls ages 5-17. In Girl Scouts, girls learn the three keys to leadership development: Discover, Connect, and Take Action. Girl Scouts of all ages explore their skills, values and their world; relate to others in a multicultural world; and engage in making a difference in the world.

Girls can join Girl Scouts at different grade levels:

  • Girl Scout Daisies (Grades K-1)
  • Girl Scout Brownies (Grades 2-3)
  • Girl Scout Juniors (Grades 4-5)
  • Girl Scout Cadettes (Grades 6-8)
  • Girl Scout Seniors (Grades 9-10)
  • Girl Scout Ambassadors (Grades 11-12)
  • Girl Scout Juliettes (Grades 1-12; non-troop affiliated)

Age-appropriate activities-designed by girls to meet their changing needs and interests-are offered through a partnership between girls and adults. Girls learn by doing and reflecting on what they have accomplished. Cooperation, teamwork, and compromise are taught through all-girl teams working toward shared goals.

Girl Scouting is made possible through dedicated contributions of adults who enjoy helping girls develop knowledge and skills for the future. Adults in Girl Scouting, both volunteer and employed staff, play an important role in helping girls enjoy exciting benefits of Girl Scouting. By sharing their time, knowledge and skills at all levels of the Girl Scout program, Adult Girl Scouts positively impact the Girl Scout organization and the community around them.
