The transition to adulthood has become more complex for all adolescents. For students with any kind of disability, the challenge is even greater.  With this in mind, it takes a team of people and much time needed for preparing these students for the adult world.

 

The transition teams can consist of teachers, counselors, job coaches, school psychologists, Vocational counselors, and parents. Transition goals can start as early as middle but really comes into play during the junior and senior years in high school.

 

After high school, many young adults find themselves wondering, what do I do next? Most of the support they received in school has come to a sudden halt. Many schools have job coaches to help students make this transition.
