All about Beluga Whales

The Beluga Whale, or White Whale is a very gentile, white, cetacean with a bulb of oily, fatty tissue at the center of its forehead, its diet consists of squid, octopus, crab, and shrimp.

Here are the statistics for Beluga Whales.

Males can live up to 90 years of age, they can grow up to 20 feet in length and weigh in from 2,400 and 3,500 lb.

Females can live up to 70 years of age, they can grow up to 15 feet in length and weigh in from 1,500 and 2,600 lb.

The International Union for Conserving Nature classifies the Beluga in the "near threatened" category, but to the Cook Inlet in Alaska, the Beluga is in the"critically endangered" category by the Endangered Species Act and has been placed under the protection of the U.S. federal government.
