How to choose a web design company for your project

When searching for website design companies, most users will search for the word web design and then maybe add their location to narrow down the search. Usually this will give you as a client enough options to figure out what web company to choose to develop your website.  Now that you have managed to locate a number of potential web designers the task of choosing the correct one is next.

A long time ago we decided to get a website designed; because we are based in Dublin we searched for web design Dublin and decided to go with the company called BigNet Design. How we made this choice was very scientific and we spent our time going through each and every detail of our project in order to make the right choice. Thankfully we found this web agency to be very professional and open about all their processes and a real pleasure to deal with.

In relation to our criteria for choosing a company to designing our site, we needed to look first at the services they provide. Responsive design was on top of the list. In today’s world, mobile responsive websites are really vital. The main reason we placed this high on our list of requirements is because 28% of our customers are using mobile devices to view our content and this is growing, month on month. After the website was completed we noticed a massive difference in the time people who are using mobile devices stay on our website.

The next requirement on our list was the structure of the website. Building a site using a structure that is easy to understand would help our ranking and also help our users have a better user experience. This was very important as our last website did not tick this box.

The design of the website was the last large item on the list and looking through the portfolio of the company we went with was enough to convince us that this company understood graphic design as well as web development.
Finally came the price, we wanted a quality website but could not afford to go over the top. Amazingly we got everything we wanted for a really reasonable price of €2900. I know we could have got one for a couple of hundred euros but in web design, you really do get what you pay for. If you want to go down the low end of web design, consider building it yourself. To be honest and having gone down this route in the past, getting a cheap website is killing your online efforts and it will tend to cost you a lot more in real business into the future.
