The Philadelphia House is licensed for five residents. We have one private room and two semi-private rooms. Each resident has a night stand with lamp, a dresser, a large closet, and plenty of space.Rooms have a TV, or you may bring a TV. All rooms have cable included. We also have phone lines in each room, but most residents have cell phones. We encourage residents to decorate their own rooms with pictures, etc. Most of our residents get dressed with help, and go to the kitchen for meals. Most residents like to read, or watch TV. Visits from family and friends are welcome anytime. We have a baby monitor for those who need assistance at night, and we have bedside commodes that maybe placed at the bedside. A licensed C.N.A. helps with showers and ambulation. We have Dr's, a podiatrist, beautician and home health services available. Hospice also comes here to help with those who have a terminal diagnosis. We also can accept residents who have catheters and residents on oxygen. Most of the residents are able to get up with assistance, and like to be out of their rooms in the daytime. This is an extremely clean and serene, quiet neighborhood setting. Shirley Hart brings many years of care giving experience to The Philadelphia House. As a licensed care home provider, her loving spirit and expertise in adult care provides lasting comfort to each of her residents. Her patience, sympathy and warm smile brings joy to her residents, their families, and the caregivers she employs. Her expertise in homemaking skills such as cooking, baking, cleaning, and sewing, provides her the tools necessary to train her caregivers in providing the best care possible. Shirley, along with her husband, Larry, have designed this home with their residents in mind. Shirley has been an L.P.N. since 1973, and has had 40 years experience in Geriatric nursing and can also provide respite care.
