Second Wind was found by your's truely (David, Tom's brother and web master!) for sale on the side of the road near the Jiffy Market in Los Gatos, CA. It had been tagged by the city to be towed and had a date with the crusher!
Well, this was unacceptable and, knowing Tom was in the market for this kind of sailboat after having sold his San Juan 24, I called Tom immediately from the market and he came down to give her a looking over. The boat was in a sad state of dis-repair but she seemed pretty sound so Tom put his $2000 down on the table and the owner agreed to the price. Tom and I hooked the trailer up to his Cherokee and towed her home. After many hours of labor (Oh yeah, Tom's a professional boat mechanic and fiberglass repairman!), the old Venture is looking and feeling young again! She's gotten her Second Wind!

The Second Wind is selected by File 5 Productions to star in a new video series bearing her name! The first instalment will begin production in the late summer of 2005. The premiere video, Second Wind: Behind the Gate will take the ol' girl across the San Francisco bay and up the Sacramento river delta.
A second video has already been decided upon, Second Wind: Catalina and is preliminarily scheduled for release in the fall of '06.

Tom's brother, David (film and video maker extraordinaire) sets up this website to chronicle the rebirth of Tom's Venture 25 sail boat, Second Wind.
At the moment Tom is working on the sail handling equipment. He's getting things ready in anticipation of the upgraded sails that are coming. Of course, money and time are always obstacles.
