Installing your own brakes is easy! I recommend the Haynes manual, which can be purchased at www.amazon.com, as a guide for this procedure. It has 2+ pages of detailed photographs, and offers clear, complete instructions. If you screw this up with the instructions given in the Haynes manual you're too inept to work on a car, so don't blame me.

Before the work begins. Make sure you have everything you will need. You will need a standard set of metric sockets (up to a 17mm), a solid ratchet, and most likely a breaker bar. You will also want your basic gear like jack stands and a good jack. If you plan on removing the caliper to paint it as I did, you should also have a bottle to drain the brake fluid into for proper disposal. If you remove the caliper you will also need DOT-3 or higher brake fluid for the refilling, and bleeding procedures covered thoroughly in the Haynes book. For the bleeding you will need a helper.

If you follow the Haynes manual carefully  You will have no problem getting to this point. Try not to get the brake fluid on your hands. It burns the next day.

I used high temp caliper paint to paint the caliper and torque plate. Be sure to tape off all the moving rubber parts. I used 2 cans off caliper paint to do this project. Takes forever, but don't rush it's worth the time, as you will see in the last picture.

Now just start putting it back together. Make sure you put the right rotor on the right side. Which right you say? The calipers have little Ls and R's on them. How sweet is that :)?

Now it's time to look so good!
