He used to do karate, and when he was on his brown belt he got fed up with being used to teach others rather than being taught himself, so he quit. He then found out he had been entered for the black belt, so he decided to take it anyway, but unfortunately failed

His Dad was stationed at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool on a Radio Operator Air Gunners Course during the Second World War
Richard had to do a forfeit while filming at the Jamaica Inn. His forfeit was to do his piece to camera without his trousers
There is also a rumour that at a recent filming of Most Haunted at Castle Keep in Newcastle, Richard and a few other crew members caused a lift to stop by jumping up and down. Their punishment was to run around the grounds without their trousers
The one sentence Richard says the most is "Don't tell my wife!". And yes, this was said during the forfeit!!
