Ratings

Content
Content is judged on four factors:

sex -- tab A (undefined) into slot B (undefined), with a variety of objects and or methods.

violence -- people hitting people and people hitting things.

disturbing images -- things that are scary without being explicitly violent: child abuse, domestic abuse, drug abuse, genocide, etc, etc, etc. This is a catch-all term for things that I think are disturbing, but you might not.

profanity -- lots of swearing, cover your ears

Intensity
Each item of content is judged by five levels of intensity:

no -- none at all to be seen; it doesn't even exist in this story.

vague -- it's there, if you peer really closely; if you don't want to see it, it's not really there.

implicit -- it's there, I know it's there, you know it's there; I don't mention it at all in any detail.

limited -- it's there, you can see it a little bit behind the partially closed doors, but there is no real detail.

explicit -- it's there in all sorts of technicolor detail.

Warnings
In addition to general content and intensity, there are three items that are specifically warned for:

character death -- can refer to a major or minor character. Character death can be categorized as violent or disturbing imagery.

rape -- the legal standard of forced sexual intercourse. Rape is always categorized as either distrubing imagery or violence.

non-con -- where one party does not consent to sexual or other activity compelled by another party, or where there is dubious consent, but which does not meet the legal standard of rape or is non-sexual.
