Thank you for taking the time to visit my corner of the world!

My name is Heather Johnsgaard (nee Stewart). I was born in Edinburgh, Scotland on March 31, 1961.

My father, now deceased, was also of Scottish birth. Through the time he served in the army, he gained opportunity to travel, and it was on these travels he happened in Canada where he met my mother, a French Canadian born in Montreal, Quebec, who he later married.

The marriage afforded them 4 children, myself, and two sisters and a brother who were born in Canada. It was upon my father's return to Scotland with my mother and siblings that I was born.

As per the custom of my homeland, at that time, I was born at home with the aid of a mid-wife.

When I was 11 years old, my parents decided to move back to Canada. Upon our arrival, we lived in Quebec for approximately 3 years until work brought the family to Northern Manitoba where we lived for a spell in Thompson, Manitoba before moving to Flin Flon, Manitoba.

When I was old enough to live on my own, I continued to make my home in Flin Flon, Manitoba and in Creighton, SK - a bordering community to Flin Flon.

I met and married my husband Allen 11 years ago, and we recently celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary.

I credit my parents for my many talents and my love of animals.
