"Dream in Fire" is perhaps one of Gafford's most ambitious stories. A short novella, it describes what happens when a man embarks on an innocent quest to find background information on his literary hero. He discovers that one of these stories is based upon a real town and travels there to investigate further. What he finds, changes him forever.
