There are so many, many people who's lives
were touched by Sam.
I have included a few comments by some of our list members
I
don't know what it is like to lose a sibling and I don't want to know,
but having lost family members I am sure I know of the pain you are
feeling. Even though the loss is but a temporary one, it is no less
painful. The thing that has always made it easier for me to bear the
death of a family member is that I know we will meet again and that
when we do all the prior pain will be forgotten. My sympathies to you
and your family. ~ Steve Finney (68)

I
am so sorry to hear about your brother Sam. My condolences to your
whole family. Tell Nita she is in my prayers. I am so glad I got a
chance to visit with both of them at the class reunion. ~ Sonja
Quarles- Termini

I will always cherish my memories
of Sammy, Nita and the rest. I have a picture of Sam, Nita and
Marcella at his 16th birthday party with my brother Bill. Sam's cowboy
hat on the back of his head. We were both at OJC as non-traditional
students. in the '70's also. He is in a better place, No more pain. I
will miss him as will others. Blessings, Dixie '53

Hi my name is crystal, I am
sorry to hear about your brother, It does seem so soon just like one
of the other members mentioned, it seems like it was yesterday that
Sam approved me to become a member and we had quite a conversation,
although that was the first and last conversation I ever had with him
I feel sadden for what has happened. He is in a much better place
now! and he is looking down at us. So for all the other member that
were concerned on how to say our good byes maybe we can just take a
few minutes and look up into the clouds or stars and give our good
byes that way I am sure he will be listening. Take care and god bless
you and everyone else ~ Crystal Lopez 98'
Please accept, and extend to the
rest of Dean's family, my heartfelt sympathies. Because I am
next to the youngest in my family and I've already buried four
siblings, I can sympathize with you. I will keep you in my
thoughts and prayers. ~ Ann Cochran Richardson (68)
Our sincerest sympathies and
prayers to your family and Sam's. This seems quite sudden.
He will be missed. ~ Gordon Smith '71

So sorry to hear about
Sam's passing. I know the sadness and sorrow the family is
going through. Sam has been a life long friend since our
growing up days in Las Animas. I and Carolyn will miss him.
Please convey our deepest sympathy to Nita and the rest of the
Dean family. Please let us know about services. God Bless all
of the family in this time of need, and we send our prayers,
and hold all of you nearer our hearts. ~ Gene & Carolyn Lutz

My thoughts and prayers are with you and all of the
family of Sam Dean. Be sure to get together with the rest of
your family and talk and laugh about the good and bad times to
celebrate his life. ~ Sylvia (Thomas) 66

Thanks for sharing
your memories. Although we can't bring our loved ones back, we can
honor their lives by remembering the positive gifts they shared during
their allotted time--and this is a good start.
I pray that God will comfort you and will help you build, hold on, and
treasure a cache of memories to help you honor and continue to
appreciate the life you did get to share with your brother.
Larry Sherman, 1966
I am so
sorry to learn of the loss of Sam. I didn't know him
personally, but through his work on the website and the LA
list I thought he must be a pretty special man. My sincere
sympathy goes out to his family and friends.

I too wish to
extend my condolences to Nita and the family and to Mike and
family and to Emma Lou and family. Their mother Frances was a
very
best
friend to my older sister Nadine Sweet so I knew them from the time
our
family moved to Las Animas in 1947.
You will be in our prayers.
