Some interesting Rixey history from Jesse Jacobs:
I graduated 8th grade 1944. Both of my parents served on the Rixey school board at separate times.
And I have today a roll top oak desk that came from Rixey and to me it is priceless

Some Rixey notes:
Rixey School is located approximately one or two miles before the turn off to Fort Lyon. Approximately one mile beyond the curve. If you go north at the school you will take the road to Haswell and Blue Lake. It is now an Oriental Store. There used to be a store right across the road that the Beck family owned. It is right before you get to where Spady's live. Before the silo and the haymill. I don't remember if they are still there or not. They really did have a basket ball court. The outhouses were in the back of the school. I don't remember how many telephone poles between the school and the Fort turn off (where Basse's store used to be across the road from, where I got all of my cats) but I used to count them on the way home from school.
