The Single Slice Side Scam - by Leo

- used without permission...but he won't mind -

When most people think of toasting bread, they tend to think of toasting two slices of bread. Furthermore, most people tend to believe that they should achieve the end result of two slices of toast by toasting them both at the same time, in the same toaster. After all, there are two slots for which to insert your bread into in the standard sized toaster. I once noticed that on all of the toasters that I have seen thus far, there is some kind of indication to tell the user which slot to put a single piece of bread into. It?s usually indicated with a triangle as an arrow and the words ?one slice.? Look for it, I kid you not. OK? first of all, who toasts 1 piece of bread? Are they trying to make some sort of 1 slice sandwich of some kind? Are they toasting it up to dip in some kind of dip to eat like a large chip?? What can you possibly do with 1 piece of toast? Furthermore, is it really more effective to put the bread in one particular side over another? I mean, surely the toast that comes from toasting in the indicated slot must come out much better. Well? it might be reasonable if it were some sort of energy-saving feature. But it?s not?I checked, I popped a slice into the indicated side and watched as the wires lit up in both slots. The toaster does not have the intelligence to realize that there is only one slice of bread and that it should keep one side of the toaster off. Maybe rich folks have some kind of expensive toaster that knows when only 1 slice of bread is being toasted and us poor folks only have the cheap imitation?integrated into the cheap toasters as a mockery to us from the toaster company people. I?ll never forgive them for this; one day, I will own one of those expensive toasters.
