Melonfield School

Melonfield school was located 2 or 2 1/2 miles west of Las Animas on Highway 50 serving the rural community west of the city.  When it was last occupied as a school is unclear.  The school building no longer exits and the plot of land that it occupied returned to farm land.  The school officials for the school year 1956-57, School District Seven,  were:

President, H. A. Brown
Secretary, Perry Morgan
Treasurer, Harold Jones
