This is just a page for fun little things you can do with your iguana, like play time, excersize, and bathing
You should allow your iguana at least one hour of play/excersize time a day. Wich means you should let it/them(if you have more than one) run around the house or at least one room of the house.
You can hide their favorite food around the house for them to find. Start with easy hiding places at first(iguana's aren't to bright you know)then slowly make it harder for them.
Or you can get one of those hollow dog toys and place a treat inside and let the iguana figure out how to get it out!! Either way, Your iguana will get the excersize that it needs.
You can also try to leash train your iguana.Basically the best you can do is get the iguana use to being on a leash and let it walk where it wants to. Do not try to make it go where you want it to, for it will not work!!! Ok! Once you've gotten the iguana used to the leash you can take it outside and let it walk around.(weather permiting) The best time to take your iguana out is in the afternoon when it is the warmest out. Remember iguana's like the heat,so don't take it out in the middle of winter, that would just be silly.
Now, Let's talk about bathing your iguana. Iguana's love baths! But before you put your iguana in the bathtub there are a few things you must do. First make sure the water is the perfect temperature. Make the water the same temperature as you would for an infant or small child. Don't have children? Basically make the temperature luke warm.
Fill the bathtub with about one to two inches of water, depending on the size of your iguana. You don't want the iguana to have to swimm the entire time it's in the tub, for it will get tired and risk drowning. Now that you have the proper water level and temp, make sure the water is compleatly turned off. Then remove any objects that can be pulled in from the side of the tub, pull up the shower curtian, prepare to get scratched, and go fetch the iguana!
If this is the iguana's first bath he will fight it at first, until it realizes that it is just water. If it splashes for longer than the first five to ten seconds, mabey the water is to warm, and you need to adjust the temperature. Just remember to remove the iguana from the bathtub before turning on the water so that you don't scare the poor thing to death!
You don't want to leave your Iguana in the tub for more than thirty minutes. It makes their skin to soft and They can catch a cold. If you want to, you can actually use soap to wash your Iguana. Just make sure you buy Jonsons baby bath.(origional) Don't use the kind with any extra moisturizers or added scents. Just plain old baby bath no tears formula.
When you are done bathing your iguana make sure to dry it of completly before returning it to it's cage.
