The farthest I could go back was a brief reference to John Henry CRAVEN who was born in March of 1860. I am unsure of this date. It was rumored that he was born in Nova Scotia and migrated down through Canada to Maine. He married Mary Ann SHANNON on July 5, 1884 and they had 4 children. Their first born was John Henry CRAVEN,II, though he went by Harry.
Harry was born in 1885 in Maine. He married Grace Alice GRANT on April 18, 1910. They had four children as well. Their oldest son was Walter Gerald CRAVEN.
Walter was born in Hampden, Maine in 1911. He married Mary Catherine O'TOOLE on June 10, 1929 and had three sons; Charly, who died in infantcy, Robert Joseph CRAVEN and John Henry CRAVEN, III. Mary died shortly after giving birth to their third son. Walter married Joyce SMITH on May 6, 1940. They had two sons; Jerald Walter CRAVEN and James Edward CRAVEN.
My father was John Henry CRAVEN III. He died in 1973 after serving in Vietnam. My brother carries the name, 'John Henry Craven', into this generation.
